Bowser Elementary School will host a reading of The Story of Madrika by local author Rosanna Pittella on May 1.

Young readers will have the opportunity to meet Alessandra, the leader of the forest nymphs, in person and enjoy her reading for children of all ages, according to a news release.

The Story of Madrika tells the tale of Madrika, 16 years old, who experiences the loss of her grandmother and goes on a magical journey. The book describes her metamorphosis into The Empoweress and righting long festering wrongs.

The event starts at 1:15 p.m. at Bowser Elementary School, located at 4830 Faye Rd.

The author will be on hand to answer questions. Copies of the book are available at local bookstores and via Amazon, according to the release.
