Second Twilight Concert planned for July 8 in Qualicum Beach

The Twilight Concert Series returns for a second performance at Saahtlam Park in Qualicum Beach on Saturday, July 8.

The two hour-long concert will feature Topazz VI who will play a selection of music that is sure to have everyone’s toes tapping, according to a news release by the St. Andrews Lodge Historical and Cultural Society, which is presenting the evening of music.

The band is comprised of six local musicians who are well-known in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area: Gina Allan (vocals), Jerry Schneider (gypsy guitar), Billy Dee (electric guitar), Michael Butterfield (saxophone and flute) and Allan Clark (swing drummer).

The band’s style varies, with tunes from the ‘30s through to contemporary hits, including swing, blues, country, light rock and jazz.

The concert will be held outdoors at Saahtlam Park (formerly known as St. Andrews Waterfront Park), located at 3319 Island Hwy West.

This concert series is a fundraiser for the restoration of St. Andrews Lodge and admission is by donation.

Those planning to attend should bring their own chair, blanket and snacks. The festivities get under way at 7 p.m. and will be over by 9 p.m.
