The Craig Bay Choristers are presenting their spring concert ‘Sing! Sing! Sing!’ in Parksville on May 3.

The program is an upbeat, lively blend of jazzy numbers like Louis Prima’s ‘Sing, Sing, Sing’, folk tunes such as Joni Mitchell’s ‘Both Sides Now’, African folk, spirituals, a “play” on Schubert and Dvorak and some English airs, according to a news release.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. at Knox United Church, located at 345 Pym St.

“The choir will ‘Make a Little Music’ and leave the audience humming as we ‘Put A Little Love in Your Heart’,” the release said.

The Choristers also made a $2,000 donation to the Oceanside Hospice Society this spring, in large part due to great audience support at the “Man of Many Voices” concert in February, the third in the annual Seaside Performance Series.

Receiving the cheque was Heather Fraser, operations manager for Oceanside Hospice Society.

Over the past 14 years the Choristers have made donations to Hospice from their concert proceeds totalling more than $15,000.

Tickets are $15 (children under 12 years of age are free), available via cash or cheque at Fireside Books in their new location at 464 Island Hwy East in Parksville.

Tickets can also be requested by email at craigbaytickets@gmail.com, or purchased at the door.

The Choristers are a non-profit organization who donate a portion of concert ticket sales revenue (less expenses). The Choristers developed the Seaside Performance Series of events to further fundraising efforts while at the same time bring quality talent to the Oceanside area. — NEWS Staff
