Poetry reading coming to Parksville library April 27

In celebration of Poetry Month, Pat Smekal and Ian Cognitō will offer a poetry reading in Parksville on April 27.

The event will be hosted by the Parksville Branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library at 100 Jensen Ave East at 2 p.m., according to a news release.

Smekal and Cognitō launched their first collaborative effort, flora, fauna & h. sapiens, at this same venue eight years ago.

Since then, they have followed with a string of poetry collections and open-call anthologies, including Smekal’s most recent solo project, Ripples (2023). Smekal and Cognitō will present lively, imaginative and irreverent poetry from several of their works.

Free admission. All are welcome.
