Indoor pickleball in Qualicum Beach is in full swing at the Qualicum Beach Curling Club.

Play is offered on four courts from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon, every week until mid-August. Cost is $5 per drop-in and you are sure to have as much pickleball as you can handle in those three hours. Players, however, must be members of Pickleball Canada for insurance purposes.

The $5 fee will go towards a fund to build outdoor courts in Qualicum Beach. Please contact Sandi at qbpickleball@gmail.com or 250-738-0091 for more information.

Meanwhile, the Qualicum Beach Pickleball Club is working on raising funds to help build four pickleball courts in the community. The town does not have a designated pickleball court and offers only one court at the Qualicum Beach Tennis Courts on Veteran's Way Road.

The town has already committed $85,000 to build the courts on town-owned property near the Qualicum Beach Skate Park but is contingent on the club matching the amount through fundraising.
