The Regional District of Nanaimo will be conducting an in-person survey on the usage of recreational facilities in Parksville Qualicum Beach as well as in the City of Nanaimo.

It will be held during the spring and fall months at Oceanside Place Arena in Parksville and Ravensong Aquatic Centre in Qualicum Beach. The survey will also take place at Beban Park, Frank Crane Arena, Nanaimo Ice Centre, and Nanaimo Aquatic Centre.

Signage will be posted when the surveyors are on site and the surveyors will identify themselves clearly when approaching patrons.

The teams of surveyors will be conducting random, brief, in-person surveys of patrons using the facility during public admission times. Residents who do not wish to participate may decline when approached. If you have any questions or concerns about the surveying, please notify the recreation department staff on site.

The patron surveying is one part of a year-long Recreation Usage Survey project being led by the RDN, which helps determine what percentage of taxes from each contributing community will be put towards sports fields and recreation facilities across the RDN.

The contributing communities include RDN electoral areas, the City of Nanaimo, the District of Lantzville, the Town of Qualicum Beach and the City of Parksville.
