In Loving Memory ~
Our beloved, beautiful mother, Elisabeth Gertrude Wilson nee Behrendt, passed March 26th, 2024 at home in Qualicum Beach.
Born November 30th, 1924 in Königsberg, East Prussia. She escaped without her family during World War Two, to live a remarkable life of resilience with grace and dignity.
Elisabeth travelled to Austria and then England where she trained to provide silver service in prestigious hotels. Her adventurous spirit led her to Toronto where she worked at Simpson Sears for years before heading West to Vancouver. It was here her life became one of family once more.
She married John Wilson, from Bury Lancashire, whom she met at a dance hall, after three months. Teresa, Kathleen and Janet, were all born in quick succession.
Their lives took them across the globe, back and forth, from England to Canada where they eventually settled in 1978 in Qualicum Beach.
Elisabeth was a loving grandmother to Wyatt, Spencer, Amancio and Benecio. She was a great friend, a generous loving, giving person who wished the best and more for everyone.
Mum's love and lessons will be forever imprinted in our hearts. Blessed are we to have had all these years of memories. She was the most graceful, polite, kindhearted soul you could ever meet.
