In loving memory ~

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Cash, aged 84, at the Trillium Lodge, Parksville, on June 25, 2024. Over 30 years ago, John and his wife Carole moved from Calgary to the French Creek area. He loved this island, and spent much of his time fishing, gardening, and playing softball. A handful of years later, he fulfilled a dream of owning his own business and became the Owner/Operator of R&G Cleaning. In 2002, after selling the business to fully retire, he discovered a new passion in golf and became a member at Arrowsmith Golf Club. He played there year round for many years, every chance he could, making numerous friends along the way.

John always had an easy way with people, endearing himself to many with his ever present sense of humour and friendliness, and he will be missed dearly. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 59 years, Carole; his daughters Carrie (Mark) Coady, and Lisa (Kevin) Terris; grandchildren Sydney, Nolan, Caroline, and Liam; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and acquaintances.

Extra special thanks to Dr. Denegri, Dr Ksienski, Dr. Genge, and Dr. Kulla, for their extraordinary care. Also to Dr. Hunter and the wonderful nurses at Trillium Lodge, for their gentleness and compassion during John's short stay. As well, a very special thank you to the EMS transport team of Sherry and Roy who took John on a touching boardwalk crossing at Berwick Parksville, on his final journey to Trillium Lodge.

At John's request, there will be no service. Donations may be made in his memory to the BC Cancer Foundation, or to the Oceanside Hospice Society.
